I'm trying to post things that make me happy. Ironically, this is one of those things. This is such an amazingly tragic song by Charlie Rich, a man who struggled with his brilliant and troubled career. At the 1975 Country Music Awards show, during an erratic moment, he set fire to the certificate naming John Denver as the winner of Entertainer of the Year. Here he is with one of my favorite songs. So sad but beautiful. I have this on my iPod and I don't think the song ends. I think the chorus just keeps going and going and going as if he can never let go of his lost love.
Julio Iglesias is mentioned in the credits. And look at Charlie Rich's hair.
